Intermittent Fasting
It’s all the rage. As many people will tell you they are doing IF right now as will tell you they’re Keto and Plant-based. It’s a thing.
Lucky for us this is actually a thing that not only stands the test of ….research (see Monday’s post on being skeptic), but also ancestral health – it makes sense. What we are learning are they what’s of its benefits, and hopefully soon all the how’s.
Intermittent fasting or time-restricted feeding simply means getting your food intake accomplished in a window of time that allows a larger window of time for fasting, or no food. We’ve done this for decades for religious purposes, but come to find out there are some serious health benefits from it, and you don’t have to get all fancy. It can be as simple as skipping breakfast or lunch!
I could link articles all kinds of publications and websites from bodybuilding.com to the New York Times…but rather let’s geek out – again. Take the meat and leave the bones. Move right to the end to the part Conclusion and read the summary. Up to you, but the New England Journal of Medicine is pretty much the end-all of getting published in…if it’s there it’s been tested.
